according to andie...: June 2012

I have been so super busy with a sick baby and so many Scentsy things going on lately, that I've not been able to update! So, I've gotta catch up on everything I have been behind on! Then I'm hoping I can get back to updating on a regular to daily basis once again! Anyways...

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we were planning to go see The Avengers at the Drive In!! Well... we made it there and finally watched it! I have since watched it another time with a girlfriend at the movie theater... Like I said, in this house we are HUGE Marvel fans! So we were insanely excited for this movie!!

Some awesome reasons to go to the Drive In:
1. Scenery
2. Kid Friendly
3. Stretch out or lay back on a blanket with some nice, comfy pillows on the lawn or in the seat of your car (which is much more comfortable I might add than the movie theater seats!)
4. Have dinner before and you'll save even more money by avoiding the burgers and such at the concession stand.. and save time too!
5. Bring along a cooler for some drinks and snacks to avoid missing out on any of the movie and to save a ton of money on snacks! Concessions can get pricey at the theater..
6. No long lines like with movie theaters!
7. Two movies for the price of one!
8. Some drive ins (like one a town over from me) offers good deals like Car load Sunday where an entire car load is only $12 for BOTH movies!! Awesome! ;)

We got to the drive in with our drinks and a few snacks and found a decent parking spot and set up our spot with our pillows and blankets and got comfortable! It was just dusk and people were already piling in the lot to watch this much anticipated film! Everyone was talking and having a good time... throwing a frisbe or a foot ball, laughing.. waiting for the show to start... This was also Aiden's first trip to the drive in and he was super excited.. as I was so excited to see his expressions and excitement when he experienced it myself! :) He loved it and can't wait to go back this summer! :)

Now onto my Avengers Review.....

First of all, let me stress to you again, how excited we were for this film! We had been looking forward to it for months upon months, years even...!! We LOVE Marvel! I have to say, I was pretty disappointed the first time seeing it... Just wasn't what I wanted it to be! :( No Ant Man... hmm. I saw it a weekend later at the theaters with one of my girlfriends, and noticed a few things I hadn't the first time.. and liked it better than I had before at the Drive In.. One awesome thing was at the theater, they showed the credits and at the end, like with most Marvel films.. I know Thor, Iron Man 1+2, and Captain America had end credits leading up to The Avengers... any fan of Marvel and its movies, knows to stick around because most usually there is gonna be a little sneak into the sequel or another branch off movie! :) So I told Carmen we would hang out a few more minutes and see.. as a few others in the theater did as well... and sure enough there was! ;) I will get to that in a bit!

Ok... onto the review... *SPOILER ALERT*

*THOR:
-Beautiful as ever! Could there be anyone more gorgeous? (well, besides Wolverine.. I'm in fact in love with that Character in case you didn't know... and no, not Hugh Jackman.. the actual character from the comics... *swoon*)
-<3 he is still a Brother to Loki :) which makes me really smile, and warms my heart.. even though Loki is crazy and such a manipulator and pulls these horrific stunts to his brother all this time, Thor still loves him and defends him as any brother should! :)
-He showed much more of his strength as a God in this movie than in Thor, where he was cast to Earth and lost his power... and more of his lightning/thunder power as well.. awesome...
-Jane: in the midst of chaos, Thor made sure they got her to safety. Love this so! :)
-He had a SUPER awesome fight with Iron Man towards the beginning... The was pretty amazing I do have to say! :) I mean you have to watch this fight.. pretty cool!
-Upon taking up for Loki, saying no, he is his brother... they proceed to tell him things Loki has done, making him look pretty bad, as if saying, why take up for him..? Thor replies, he's adopted :D LOL

*IRON MAN:
-As I mentioned the super awesome fight... lol you have got to check it out.... I will try and find a clip of it online and if I can I will post it below!
-I liked Iron Man a lot better in The Avengers than I have in either of the two Iron Man movies... much better! How can a person not like Robert Downey Jr as an actor though...?
-called Thor a "demigod" when he's in fact a god, that kinda irritated me meh.
-he was witty and snippy as ever.. love!
- did I mention he saved the world? :) <3

*CAPTAIN AMERICA:
-very, very arrogant and cocky was my first few impressions in this movie.. and not in a flattering way.. yes, he's strong and fast... but he is a man made super hero.... so I'm just not impressed with Captain America.. the movie Captain America was alright.. very sad to me, and I have to feel pain for him for missing out on so much being frozen and losing his love, etc.. which I guess would make him bitter, but he just acts like he's the greatest thing.. and to me, he's just not.. no offense to all you Captain America hardcore fans, but without being made into the super soldier, he's nothing... he's weak.. if he had never been made into this, he would be basically nothing in a sense of strength etc... no more than you and I... now, if you were to take away his super soldier abilities now, he would be more strong than he would if he'd never received them based on experience alone.. but like I said, he just doesn't impress me.. he's probably my least favorite avenger.. sorry for the rant! ;)
-he was also really Cheesy and old school super hero all throughout the movie lol, but I guess that plays well with comics.. :)
-Iron Man and Captain America had a constant argument back and forth, competing with one another about power, etc... both of them are arrogant though... (Iron Man much more tolerating lol) and also as I mentioned above with Captain America being nothing if he hadn't been made.. Iron Man is basically a rich guy with a killer suit (of armor that is!), but basically he is a genius as well, especially when you add in his girlfriend, Pepper Potts.. They are a power couple, really.. lol
-I really wouldn't consider him a good leader.. I mean I would basing it on experience I suppose.. and I guess he did a decent job to pull them altogether and try and get them to stop the bickering, and he is there to help... but if I had to choose a leader for them, it would probably be Iron Man really.. that's just me though...
-he just really needs a love... I want him to have a love.. then I think things would be better!

*HAWKEYE:
-mediocre all throughout the movie to me...
-reminded me for some reason of Robin Hood :)
-only good part to me of Hawkeye was towards the end when he was shooting his arrows at enemies and teamed up with the Black Widow.. other than that, I could've done away with him in this movie.. other than Loki manipulating him to turn on the rest of the Avengers.. I guess that was a good point in movie, but really wasn't that impressed..

*BLACK WIDOW:
-Scarlett was smokin' as the Black Widow! She played the part perfectly!
-I really did like Black Widow all throughout the movie, and it's always nice to have some girl power thrown in there! :)
-Very good at doing her job... very good.. like with Loki... she basically manipulated the King of Manipulation (lol) into giving away his plan of using the Hulk.. :)
-was hoping as soo many had said a captain america-black widow romance, but nope.. I was hoping because he needs a love.. and they would be good together.. but.. it would be even better, if she was with Hulk.. ah, that would be incredible ;) haha!

*NICK FURY:
-Samuel L. Jackson is such a good actor, always!
-loved his willingness of helping the Avengers and covering for them!
-pretty badass.. pardon my language.. but yeah..
-but he lied about why he wanted the tesseract... to keep out of the hands of bad and wrong doers such as Loki is what he implied, but it was in fact to make nuclear weapons... smh.

*HULK:
-first of all, we all know there have been several Hulks.. for some reason, they never work out.. but let me just say, we have all hit the jackpot here... this was probably the best Hulk I have seen.. and I used to watch the original The Incredible Hulk tv series with Lou Ferrigno... I am still more into Lou Ferrigno as Hulk but for Bruce Banner, we have hit the jackpot!
-Lou Ferrigno actually is a walking Hulk... it's pretty incredible.. he's huge! There have been debates for years and years who is bigger Lou or Arnold Swarchenegger... he made the most amazing "live" Hulk!! So, I cannot tell you how excited I was to learn he was the voice of the Hulk in this very movie!! I am such a nostalgic person, and things like this, I just love. :)
-Bruce Banner learned to keep the Hulk at bay well!
-not made to look as stupid as Hulk has looked the past few movies...
-when he first HULKED out on the plane... WOWZA amazing scene!
-really there's not a scene in this movie that Hulk is in that wasn't good..
-his fight with Thor on the plane when he first HULKED out.. awesome.. another one you've gotta see!!! (strong as he may be he still doesn't posess the power to grab Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.. LOVE!!)
-everyone couldn't wait to see him HULK out.. everyone... in the actual movie.. me... everyone!!
-towards the end, Thor is standing next to him, and he punches him and knocks him down... another scene you just gotta see.. I literally lol'd!
-LOVE LOVE LOVED the scene of the fight.. well can't really call it a fight since Loki had no chance.. but the bashing of Loki by Hulk.. that scene was amazing lol.... have to see it!
-HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love :)
-saves Iron Man... *tear* sooooooo sweet <3 touched my heart :) I'm a sap, I know!
-Really, can you say anything besides HULK SMASH???! lol no need!
-By far, the best Avenger!:) to me, anyways..

*LOKI:
-amazing in this movie!!! In Thor he was ok, but in this one he was a GREAT villain.. I even got chills!! :)
-loved how he could so easily manipulate..
-I would've liked to of saw more of his freezing powers...
-loved how when he came in, he looked right at Bruce and smiled so evilly...
-loved his costume!!
-he was surprisingly wonderful, I was impressed but hadn't been expecting much to begin with.. but was sooooo impressed by Loki....
-everyone thinks they are saved and the Avengers won... but really Loki LET himself be caught... he LET them think he wanted to rule Earth... he LET them think what he wanted them to... and LET them think they have won.. It's not over.. Loki always has something up his sleeve trying to distract Thor and take over Asgard!
-loved the scene where he came to and everyone was over him ganged up and he says to Iron Man, I'll have that drink now.. LOL :D
-loved when he was captured... (on purpose.. came soo willingly.. plan, duh) and it was thundering and they made a comment at him about being afraid, and he said not so much the thunder, but what follows implying Thor..... LOVED! :D lol
-I just LOVED him! LOVED! I am now a new LOKI fan.. wow! :)

*END CREDITS:
-THANOS!!!!
-At first I thought it was red I was seeing instead of purple... and thought it was the Red Skull, until I watched clips again and realized it to not be Red Skull but actually Thanos...
-There's supposed to be a Thor 2 and another Avenger's movie come out so I'm wondering which he will play villain in.
-Thor 2 makes sense because of his infinity glove that was shown in the first Thor movie in Odin's vault at Asgard with other relics.
