Shari's Berries Review

Oh my, Shari's Berries......

You may recall in my daughter's first birthday post before this, that we received some Shari's Berrie's, and indulged in them after her birthday dinner.

We ordered the Cheesecake Trio and Dozen Fancy Strawberries, which runs about $54.97 before tax or shipping! I was a bit iffy about all of that with that being a pretty hefty price tag for some chocolate covered strawberries and small cheesecakes. Especially when I am a Velata consultant, and I can make chocolate covered strawberries, very easily, anytime I would like.

Here's the description on the Shari's Berrie's web page:
A delectable assortment of individual serving mini cheesecakes including a Classic New York cheesecake, a rich and smooth white chocolate cheesecake and a luscious chocolate Rocky Road cheesecake. With twelve Fancy Strawberries. Your Gift Includes:
4 Strawberries Dipped in Milk with Chopped Almonds
4 Strawberries Dipped in Dark with Dark Chocolate Chips
4 Strawberries Dipped in White with Dark Swizzles
3 Mini Chocolate Cheesecakes

And here's the lovely photo, via the website :)

It was shipped in a very sufficient time manor, by UPS, I do believe.. I received a Velata shipment that same day (YUMMMM)!! :P Anywho... it came in a pretty big sized box, with a little cooler insert inside of the shipping box, and inside that, was two beautifully wrapped boxes, with the Shari's Berrie's emblem on the top, complete with white ribbon.

I believe I have a few unboxing photos, if I can round those up, I'll attach them! :)

So, we dipped right into the berries.. each of us (Me, Mom, Judy, and Memal) having one berry of each kind a piece. Now, this is MY opinion on the berries, not theirs.. you'll have to try them out to see for yourself, of course, to form your own opinion.
My first impression, these berries were freaking humongous, no lie! They were cute, loved the fanciness to them! I felt like I was about to indulge in a real treat!
The strawberry dipped in milk chocolate, topped with almonds, were definitely my very favorite. It was like eating a truffle of some sort, on top of a juicy, big ripe strawberry! The strawberry dipped in white chocolate with dark chocolate swizzled on top, was nice and creamy, the two chocolates complimented one another well. I'm not huge into white or dark chocolate, but I really like it, they enhanced the berry for sure. And, I've never been much into dark chocolate, but as I am getting older, I am finding that my taste buds are changing more and more. I really liked the strawberry dipped in dark chocolate, covered with dark chocolate chips! It was my next favorite, for sure!! Well, we will just say that berry was healthy, and not count the calories.. hey, it had fruit.. good, dark chocolate.. good.. more dark chocolate.. even better? haha!
Now, onto the cheesecakes.. we ate these the next day.. and I tried them, and Jerry, my fiance's father tried them with me. We are big into sweets and cheesecakes, so we were pretty curious about these!
Included were three petite cheesecakes, but enough for us to indulge in!! :)
The Classic New York cheesecake was really nice, a very good cheesecake!

The White chocolate cheesecake was really good too, but very very rich for me!

The Rocky Road cheesecake was AMAZING!! Definitely my favorite one!! Tastes like rocky road deliciousness!! And it's cheesecake!!! How much better can ya get??
So, here's my ratings for Shari's Berrie's!
A=Amazing!!
B=Great!
C=Pretty Good
D=Could use some improvement
F=Epic Fail
Shipping= A+, it was received at perfect, no excellent timing, before I even finished cleaning house and getting the birthday dinner ready!
Packaging= A+, very cute!!! And everything was in perfect condition!! I was very worried about this, but it turned out great! I was pleasantly surprised! :)
Strawberries= A, I loved them all.. the white chocolate wasn't as much for me, but was still good, and the other two were amazing!
Cheesecakes= B, I really liked these, but some of them were a little too rich for my taste.
I do recommend Shari's Berries! There is a variety of things for everyone, and they are perfect for gifts, special occasions, etc. A++

SALE Alert~Old Navy Swimsuits!!

I just wanted to let you all know about the amazing SALE Old Navy has right now on their Women, Girls, and Toddler Swimsuits!! In Store, AND online!! :)
Now if you're like me, you feel like you need to replace your swimsuit at least every 1-2 years, and then have extras!! If you happen to have a daughter, you'll also know that having 6 or so swimsuits is totally normal, right? lol That's the case with Piper anyways... she has probably 6 swimsuits here at home, and then about that many at her Mimi's too! lol :)
Aiden, he may have 3 pair of swim trunks.. I was kind of disappointed they didn't have boys trunks on sale too! :( You just don't usually run up on boys swim trunks at such great deals like you do girls.. I think that's why she has so many.. they're so cute.. how can you resist? And $10 and under.. that's a deal, right? :)
But... I will take a brand new $5 swimsuit for Miss Pip anyday of the week! =D
Here's the one I just snatched up for her, over at the Old Navy sale!! :)

Super cute, right? :) I love it!! She doesn't have any purple swim suits!! I did get it in the next size up for next summer though instead of her size now! Way more practical! :)
It was originally $16.94, and I only paid $5 for it!! SWEET! :)

There are some SUPER cute swimsuits for Women, girls, and for toddlers in the sale!!
Let me know which ones you will be getting, or would like to have! So many adorable choices!! :)

Miss Piper Alexandrea is 1!!!

I can't believe it.. my baby girl is already one year old! She turned one on March 27th. It's crazy how fast time has flown by! She's grown into such a smart, funny, adorable baby girl! :)

For her actual birthday, we just had a laid back family get together with some homemade Vegetable beef soup and cupcakes. I received some Shari's Berries for the occasion too, so we splurged and had some of the best chocolate covered strawberries I've ate, and we tried some of the Cheesecake trio! I'll have a review about this in another post. ;) We opened a few presents that night as well! :)

The next day was spent shopping for the party and decorating that night.. that was a JOB! Let me tell you! lol It was fun and turned out perfect, but was a bit time consuming.. let me just say there's no way I could have done it alone.. so thankful that I had help! <3

Piper's party was Owl and Princess themed, Whooooo's One? OWL little Princess! :) That just came to me while in line waiting to pick up Aiden from school, I'm so random.. I know! :-P It turned out perfectly! The cake and smoosh cake were both absolutely perfect!! The decorations looked awesome! And almost all of the food was ate, along with the punch! :)

She had a pretty awesome birthday, and got lots of goodies! My memal even handed down a porcelain doll to her for when she's older! And we got her a pretty spiffy new ride, if I do say so myself! I think I may just do a review on it.. it was an amazing deal.. and we love it! <3

Here are a few pictures of her birthday; Just about everything was handmade :)

On her actual birthday^^

Some party décor:

this was Justin, Piper, and Me as Babies :)
I decorated the frames and put Mommy was a little Princess,
Daddy was a little Hoot,
and on Piper's, I put Look Whoo's One.. Owl little Princess :)

I didn't just get pretty colored cutlery, I bling-ed them out with rhinestones for the Princess!!
I also made the blocks for centerpieces, and Piper's photo is on 2 sides, and there's an owl on the other 2 sides :) for Owl little Princess :)

The CAKE!!! and Pip's smoosh cake :) Karen did an amazing job, as always!

This was after we plastered the board with Piper's of Piper's first year,
by her first Holidays and her weekly photos I took :)
We also made the balloon castle towers ourselves! :)

 Before we put all her pictures up :)
Kind of sloppy, but you get it :)

The cake table! :) Yes, I made the punch (triple berry :D),
in my adorable punchbowl I scored at the Goodwill for only $7
(this will come in so handy!!!) The castles I got at Walmart on CLEARANCE..
they were Valentine's boxes filled with Valentines :)
(and yes, of course I kept them for next year's Valentine's Day!!)
Tablecloth was from Walmart for .98 in the party section :)
The glasses we drank from, I wrote on the bottoms, Piper's First Birthday 2013!
And I put owl stickers on the front, and put a little crown on the owl's head! :)
Can you say adorable?? :)

Yes, we made these!! :)

Another shot of the cake :) It says Whooo's 1? Owl little Princess :)

We made the little balloon bar pieces :)
And some adorable little garden owl items I scored at Big Lots :)
I'm owl-obsessed, so these are about to go out in my little yard! :)

haha Piper before she was spiffied up.. she's in play clothes,
a pink CK trench jacket, and her pink Converse! :)
