I have used Influenster for a year or more now. It is a wonderful site, with lots of product reviews. I first discovered it after hearing about it on YouTube. I saw that some girls on YouTube had been receiving VoxBoxes from Influenster, letting them try out Products, kind of like Birchbox, but they were actual full-sized products, for FREE! I quickly hopped on over to their website, and created a profile with them, and began taking surveys and doing product reviews!
They have really revamped their website! I like it a lot better! It's free to join too! Just go to this link, and request to join! :) www.influenster.com
Anyways, I received an e-mail a while back from Influenster, offering me a chance to complete a survey to qualify for the Beauty VoxBox.. Unfortunately, I missed the e-mail, and didn't get to complete the survey in time to receive the Beauty VoxBox. Not long after, I received another e-mail like the other, except it was for the College VoxBox. I immediately jumped to complete the survey, and ended up getting an e-mail back a little while after that, informing me that I was one of the people who were going to receive it! YAY!
It didn't take it long to get here... This is how it came! Way to Go Influenster for Fast Shipping! Thank you for sending me these goodies and letting me review them! :)
Sorry I flipped it before, then when I uploaded it, it wouldn't let me fix it again!
On the back of the card included the product list and information for the products,
and also on the back of this card was this intro: Between classes, extracurriculars, and social obligations, how does a college gal like yourself find the time to do anything for herself? We think you deserve a little pampering, so we're making it easier for you with the College VoxBox!
Inside this box, you'll find the products that are a fit for your college life.
First up was ImPress Press-On Manicure: $5.99 for colors, $7.99 for patterns
Introducing the revolutionary new way to apply polish! Featuring advanced nail technology, you can get a salon-perfect manicure in seconds--simply peel off, press on, and you're done. There's no drying, a skiller shine, and a manicure that lasts up to a week.
Ok, right off, the very first thing that I noticed was the adorable packaging! The nails come in this super cute container that looks like a bottle of nail polish. Adorable!! Now, anyone that knows me knows that I am a Nail Polish FREAK! I absolutely love nail polish, all of the different colors, and amazing things you can do with nail polish.. GLITTER polishes :) Ah, I just love it! I had been wanting to try these for quite a while because in high school I used to love going to the salon and getting acrylics put on.. they were so pretty and girly! It had been quite a while since I had indulged in a manicure or a pedicure, so this was something I was so very excited about. These come in patterns and colors. I was sent this pattern in Starstruck, which, to me, looks like a snake skin print. It definitely was not the pattern for me, at all. I just did not find this pattern attractive whatsoever. The nails weren't too complex. I just pulled them out of the packaging and sized them up with my nails and stuck the little sticky strip on the back to adhere them to my nails. I feel like it was a little hard, the more of these you got on your nails, to finish putting on the remainder. However, they had great staying power! I was impressed with the quality and how they stayed on. However, the print, was just not at all for me, so I had to remove them because I just couldn't stand the look of them any longer!
Rating: 6/10.
I would try them again.
Pros: inexpensive, quick, no drying time, shine
Cons: the pattern I received, kind of sticky, the more nails you get on the harder they become to apply
Here is a photo of the nails on me:
Next up was the NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Eyeliner Pencil: $2.49 per pencil
Missing the spark? Get it out there with the Show Time Glitter Eyeliner Pencils. Create jewel-encrustex eye looks with these long-wearing glitter-infused rich colors. No doubt you will be dazzling.
This is the only picture I have of this. I have used it several times though.
I have used the NYC brand for years. I think they are a nice inexpensive brand. This eyeliner, in particular, I was so very excited about. I love glitter, and black and silver makes a great combination. When I opened up the liner, I could see the glitter. I decided to try it out immediately. It glided on really easily, like a nice creamy liner would, but the glitter would just not show on my eye at all. I liked the liner a lot for just a black creamy liner, which is what I like usually, but was pretty disappointed that it didn't have much glitter showing. :(
Rating: 6/10
I would purchase and recommend the brand, but I would stick to regular liners.
Pros: easy to apply, smooth, gliding on, creamy, thick black
Cons: a bit messy, not much glitter showing through for me
(I would recommend using an eye primer first)
The third goody was the Necco Tropical Wafers: $1.25 each, $24.00 per Box, $37.50 per Tub
Necco has introduced a new delicious candy item to be hitting store shelves soon, and you're lucky enough to try it first! A tropical version of the famous Necco Wafer will feature exotic flavors like Coconut, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Lime, Banana, and Mango.
I do enjoy tropical flavors. I like the original Necco Wafers. My favorite of the original is the purple and pink ones, sometimes green. I really liked the Mango, Lime and Strawberry flavors. They were smart to include the Coconut.. that was an interesting candy wafer flavor. I liked it! Passion Fruit was alright, but not for me. And banana, well, I just don't do banana flavors. I'm not a banana person. I think the packaging was simple, but bright, and colorful and got my attention. I was overall satisified with this product!
Rating: 6/10
I would re-purchase this product.
Pros: flavors, candy, sweet
Cons: kind of chalky like antacid tablets
Next was the amazing Pentel EnerGel-X Campaign pen: $1.90 per pen
Taking notes just got a bit more exciting with EnerGel-X, the latest addition to the EnerGel fmaily of Liquid Gel Pens from Pentel. The high-performance ink technology combines the best qualities of liquid and gel ink for a super-smooth writing experience, so you can stay on top of your schoolwork.
First of all, Pentel RSVP pens are my favorite! I was so stoked to open the box up to find this pen! I have used them for years... since probably middle school, and I love them! It is a pen that I will reach for above the more expensive ones, not because it is inexpensive, but because I love the way it writes. I also love the look and feel of the pen. It's amazing! Thank you so very much for this pen!
Rating: 10/10
I will definitely re-purchase and always recommend.
Pros: my favorite pen, smooth, glides over the paper, fine tip, love the feel of the pen
Cons: Absolutely none!
Last of all, I received these Energy Sheets: $5.95 per pack of 10 sheets
Don't have the energy to finish all your school work and still enjoy campus life? Try Energy Sheets, the new way to do energy. Simply place a Sheet on your tongue where it dissolves instantly so it can be easily swallowed and digested to deliver hours of energy. And no liquid means there's no bloating and no extra pit stops!
First of all, this packaging was adorable, and very handy! They come packaged individually, which was smart packagaing! They have a cute little design on the sheets. This also came with a sticker and coupon. This, I would say, worked a slight bit, if you read the back, you'll notice that it says that 2 sheets contain caffeine comparable to the leading cup of premium coffee. Now, for me, coffee doesn't give me energy. Most energy drinks, in fact, do not give me energy. You just stick the sheet on your tongue and it's supposed to dissolve; mine was stuck to the roof of my mouth and I had to get it off with my tongue, then it was just jumbled up stuck together and I ended up having to swallow. The texture of this product wasn't very good, to me, and neither was the MINT BOOST taste.
Rating: 3/10
I would NOT re-purchase, or recommend.
Pros: cute and smart packaging, love the idea of it
Cons: the taste, the texture, the effect
I was very excited to get this Influenster package, and I look forward to getting others! Definitely go sign up for influenster, even if you don't get a VoxBox, it's a great website for reviews. :)
